YOUTH COMPETITION

Details about the 3rd Annual Al Navaroli Young Musicians Competition will be posted shortly.

The purpose of the competition seeks to find and showcase talented young musicians in southern Santa Clara and San Benito counties. It is open to musicians aged 10 through 18 and all instruments (except piano) may apply. The first place winner will have the opportunity to perform as a soloist with South Valley Symphony during the orchestra's 2009-2010 season.

Applicants must select a concerto written for their instrument and provide a prescreening recording of one movement of their piece along
with a $30 application fee. A maximum of 15 applicants will be chosen as finalists for the actual competition which will be held in late November or early December.
